Lmao for some reason my comment about the novel was immediately removed even though I didn't share a link. Well, I will now since ig it didn't matter.

Was interested in this because I love angst and the art was decent so I checked the raws (there are only 3 chapters out so far) and also found the novel. I decided to MTL since it looked short but I lost interest about halfway through because the characters just weren't for me.
ML is basically your cold, abrasive, and laughably possessive ML who is hiding the fact that he likes the FL because he thinks she likes another guy. I'm honestly not sure what gave him the impression since apparently everyone else is aware FL has a thing for him.
Anyways, ML's jealousy leads him to treating FL coldly and roughly, and he basically straight up assaults her several times after their "mandatory first night".
One particularly uncomfortable moment for me was when, in a fit of jealousy, he assaults the FL in a library and doesn't stop even when 2 other characters are nearby. He said some nasty stuff during and I think she fainted after the ordeal but I could be wrong. MTL is always wonky after all.
Another moment was when he tells the FL that he won't allow anyone else to touch her (MTL said dirty) but him. Standard possessive ML shit but like, right in the beginning he said he'd slept with other women before. I'm not saying he can't, but the double standard is glaring. If they ever clarified that he didn't sleep around, I'm not aware of it since I couldn't be bothered to finish the whole thing.
Either way, the ML was awful imo. Honestly, I'm not sure what the FL sees in this guy or how she could like him even after being treated that way. It's baffling.
All in all, after reading the raws for the manga and the novel, this definitely isn't for me. Maybe it would've been interesting when I was 14 but it's not something I can get into anymore.

Y'know I really don't understand characters like this. Sure, you want to change your fate now and decide to be nice to the novel's MC but did she forget the character she's possessed was literally abusing the child not too long ago??
Tell me what sane person would trust an abuser that's now doing a 180?? Who wouldn't feel distrustful and scared with that kind of sudden change! Honestly, if she really wanted to mend their relationship, maybe apologising for Judith's past actions would have been a start even if words aren't worth much. At least after that point she could have started trying to show her sincerity.
Sorry for the rant but I've seen this plot too many times and I'm tired of it.
Although volume 5 is disappointing so far, I checked the raws and it looks like we're getting another continuation of "Shall We Continue Down the Flowery Path of Evil?"! This story was one of my faves so I'm def looking forward to it!
