theres supposed to be another chapter before this one where gil and evelyn were both fighting/ convincing the prince's uncle (im bad with names sorry) to give them the goblet and not to the other and in the end it was revealed that it wasnt poisoned in the first place (the uncle drank it to prove it)

They generally use the different hair colors since it might get confusing btwn two characters with same hair....like if binnie had grey hair as yugun might get confusing to identify who is who in some settings
