the latest chap just showed how the emperor was lied to by the person who the og empress TRUSTED THE MOST ofc he would believe that his child is male, he had absolutely no reason to believe otherwise???

in the og novel, the emperor does not meet mc bc she was never adopted by the duke, she only meets the royal family once they were all brainwashed to hate her, this is why he couldn’t recognize his own daughter.

imo, he did the most he could with what he had. he’s very selfish for wanting her to come to the palace but at the same time, he doesn’t know the dukes intentions yet. he can’t be so sure that the duke is treating his kid nicely yk?
