Kaoru and Rin are fated pairs, and Taiga and Yuka are fated pairs. Taiga realized it back in high school after everything had happened. Yuka has no idea, but I think Kaoru has a feeling that something was off. Rin noticed the minute he was in the vicinity of Kaoru. Yuka is under the mistaken impression that Kaoru was his fated pair, because the whole high school incident was a mess.
