It's funny how people fails to understand the ending then calls it lame. It was the perfect tragic ending.

The scene with his father apologizing, Kwon, Hansol and Jaekyung reuniting again were all something he probably hoped to happen. Then comes the reality. When Jaekyung went back his father did not apologize but became more mad, bipolar, and obsessed with controlling him. He was unable to remain friends with Hansol again and Kwon emigrated with his uncle. His scores kept on failing and failing and he was physically assaulted everytime until he grow even more tired, thus the ending where he said something that indicates possibility of suicide. It's likely he killed himself.
