The pieces that normalizes those rape fetish yes I do hate. But I do not like most yaoi in the first place, I'm more into shounen-ais, something proper with an actual story. Think of Love Tractor, Heesu in Class 3, Here You Are, Lost in the Cloud. And even if I do like the hardcore bl ones, I firmly show disgust to what kind of yaoi you have in mind.

In the anime ver i watched he was definitely not raped in the bathroom, he managed to escape and locked the door and trapped it with multiple furnis and plants. I'm gonna guess they scrapped the rape element of the manga in that anime, also no indication later on that he was raped (in further episodes). I'm gonna firmly believe the not shown = did not happen cause i love that takato was not sexually assaulted in the anime version i watched ╥﹏╥. They had sex later on though but it was with consent.

Pretty sure Dan simply falls under the category of having a shit life all his life and finally seeing light. That CAN make people fall in love, some readers really need to realize that fact. XD Plus, he's likely a masochist without knowing beforehand, so that too will play a role in him liking JJ.

Hmm i see, i get the point. I'm pretty sure my standpoint comes from a place of hate rn, pure hatred for dumb characters, even though Dan could very well be any other broke people hanging by the thread desperate and all. I just have an inherent repulsion with characters who are weak, can't do anything right, and falls inlove with their abuser that's why i think it's bad writing, using such trope is just bad writing. The author had millions of other choices for a character personality other than this boring white lotus who gets mistreated every chapter but still chose this for idk what fucking reason ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶.

I get that feeling too sometimes. Especially if you check new uploads and ALL of the characters are just annoying to say the least. That has made me take a break from reading for months once. XD
Characters like Dan rely on people being able to understand people like that or even feel relatable to them. So if you cannot understand their point of view it will easily result in them being just annoying and hating them even. People like Dan exist irl, but it's a more niche part of society, which is why authors usually change their personality along the way to make them more relatable to other types of readers. If they don't, the target audience will be small and it usually ends in people really hating to read the story. (Granted, some authors just don't care, which I kinda like, or they do it on purpose. After all: Any PR is good PR. So people reading for hate or like doesn't matter to some.)

I think the target audience for this story is people that can relate to being weak and submissive, as well as have a soft spot for typical jerk hot guys that are into SM-kinda dynamics. As well as people who see the story from a more mature viewpoint and look for rhyme and reason without it being revealed yet. (I fall into that group, as I believe JJs character as well as Dan can be written to be VERY realistic if we bring in mental issues that made them as they are and slowly need work to fix. Not that I have hope for a smut comic to actually do that. For that the opportunity to hint at this is really nowhere to be seen.)

Tho then again, there are also those who ignore the story and just focus on the good art. I have done that many times in the past and it can make stories better than actually reading them. Tho it's not easy to do if you already know wtf is going on. So that might not be an option for you to try. (￣∇￣")

I personally hope the author will at least TRY to bring in reason and JJ feeling miserable (due to a lost fight perhaps) and then they can have a better relationship. The more this continues the less I think the author will do it tho. But the drunk cuteness IS a nice start. We just need this more often to change their dynamic. I shall remain hopeful. (●'◡'●)ﾉ

Maybe a skill aquired by reading too many fictional pieces and constant daydreaming. I am not entirely sure. It does not always work tho. XD
But I can understand how it's a major irk-factor for people who're not into submissiveness or forceful partners.

Maybe it's my hobby of being a writer that plays into this. Being able to word things well is a needed skill with that after all. XD Plus, I like being detailed (sometimes too much) so there won't be misunderstandings or open questions.

I like sloppy smut, but character developement is WAY more needed for these two dum-dums. Fingers crossed we get that sometime soon.
