Talking about otome game, I played once when it’s pandemic (out of boredom) and I honestly enjoyed it lol. I only played two-obey me and mystic messenger. I just got tired with obey me for having lots of quest(?) and needs extra time to finish each story/event (sorry I forgot what it’s called). But I got attached with the characters they are all cute and handsome lol.
Mystic messenger became my favorite. It requires time also but it’s scheduled and you can search the time and alarm so you won’t miss and get a bad ending. The story got me hooked, I thought it’s all about romance but it has a dark side and even though the choices are sometimes cringy and obvious, I unexpectedly finished each ending and even managed to purchased the phone call lol.
This is off topic so I’m sorry. Please don’t mind me I just wanna share haha
Really playing it will give you points? Haven’t read on webtoon for a while.
Seriously I hate that we have to play nonstop to finish it. It’s like there’s a deadline to catch and you can only get some of the reward if you won’t pay (I remember needing lots of energy to keep playing, plus I keep losing in dance battle when it’s nearing the end).
Yea when you open it(webtoon) on the top left corner it says free coins and you just download the app and completely certain levels I think for obey me it was up to lesson 20.
Yea that part really sucks but when you don't pay you have to be very resourceful with your items and rewards. You did need a lot of energy, 8 for th events and it would drain quickly. After I was able to catch up to lesson it was easier to not waste it
Not sure if it’ll turn out good I saw someone saying that Karas is a red flag even after knowing he is Abel (based on the novel) the reason why I didn’t start the novel.
But do tell me if I am wrong please. If the original story is somewhat depressing, hopefully in this manhwa it’ll be a better adaptation.
my friend read the novel and yes, unfortunately, all you've mentioned above about the novel is true..
the atmosphere in the novel is much more darker, gruesome, and explicit which probably is why the manhwa is now rated as "shounen ai" to lessen the impact.
and about Karas.. let's just say he becomes the typical obsessed red flag who forces himself to Abel when Abel is yet to be sure whether his feeling is romantic or not (i said this bcs my friend said it is actually stated that Abel is scared when Karas approached him to do the R rated stuffs).
Hopefully it’s not that bad in manhwa ToT
The story itself started really interesting tho. I remember I got so hooked when I first read this and go around looking for novel. Then I got warned by the comments there haha. Thank you for confirming. I’ll see how this turns out, tho I won’t expect too much.
I was the same as you XD I planned to read the novel as well bcs it's SamK, it bounds to be entertaining, but also unhinged at the same time,, but then my friend went ahead of me on reading it, bombarded me with all the things happened there, and in the end literally said "let's just wait for the manhwa."
so, yeah, let's just wait for the manhwa ( ̄∇ ̄")
I'm on volume 7 of the novel, Karas is a red flag, but he is not violent towards Abel. I would say his red flag qualities are more about his lack of empathy for others and his concerning beliefs that came from his traumatic upbringing. I wouldn't consider him a "stereotypical seme" at all. He's more nuanced than that.
If you choose to read the novel, it is darker than the manhwa. There will be times when you will be shocked by Karas's cruelty (to people other than Abel). The novel does also have moments of lightheartedness like the manhwa, so it's not all doom and gloom. Personally, I like the novel and while Karas has some concerning traits, I'm hopeful that things will work out.
Can I have more of this. Similar stories like this pleasee
