wow.....i..um...wow..that was really really unexpected, i think it was a really good story, though tragic. >.< he lost his father, became the substitute of women for many men and the emperor who "killed" his father. i feel really bad for yan.
but i'm really confused as to how the father ended up as he did, i mean i understand that he went crazy from drugs and sex, but how the heck did he end up dead and on display, when the emperor loved him so much?!? i mean the emperor who claims to love him, wouldn't have treated him like that after death right?!? so confused and sad right now. :C
The Emperor is an interesting case, isn't he? I suspect, like all abusers, he mentally minimizes the actual damage he causes to others on the one hand, and completely rationalizes his behaviour on the other, concluding to himself that it's all out of love. (Totally different league of literature here, but think of Raskolnikov in Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, and all the mental rigamarole and gymnastics he put his psyche through before and after taking an ax to his landlady.)
I believe the emperor had to banish him from his palace; the father did hurt the emperor. Though the emperor may pardon the father, his ministers wouldn't. Also, the emperor may not have been informed of what happened to the father, as he was still recovering n etc. However, when he did find out, it was already too late. The father was castrated, and died of blood loss. .....i am just rambling at this point.....and this is just a mere assumption.
ahh~ i see, it sort of makes sense now. i knew that the emperor wasn't mad at the father for stabbing his eye, so i didn't understand how/why the father was killed. But since you mentioned the emperor recovering from the injury, and the possible deeds that could have occurred during that period, it makes sense now that it could have been the ministers who killed the father and ordered him to be displayed.
hmm, see, i didn't think the emperor was abusive, but more obsessive. well, he wasn't abusive in a violent sense where he would beat the father. Although he probably did rape the father after capturing him (i think), because he "loved" him in a obsessive and possessive way. Which i think lead to the the father being overdosed with drugs, making him go crazy. but to the emperor, that was all fine, he could still love the father even when he was crazy, because he still "had" the father, like he still "owned" or has the father in his "possession", which in the emperors mind was all he needed, because like you mentioned, he rationalized his behaviour as being ok, because it was out of love.
and, i'm sorry, i didn't understand the literature you were talking about >.<
Interjection: the Emperor did order his soldiers to rape the Western King, even if he didn't do it himself. Just because he wasn't the one penetrating his former ally and partner in crime doesn't absolve him from complicity. Negligent manslaughter or homocide is considered a crime in many countries. I would say he was an abuser, even if he never lifted a finger to actually lay it on his victims. Yes, he was also obsessive. One fault doesn't negate the existence of the other.
its just when i thought of abuser, i sort of presumed the abuser being the abusive one, where he/she would perform the action. but now that i actually think about it, i see that the abuser could also be the one giving the commands. actually, while thinking about what you wrote, i sort of recalled a lot of manga's like that, where the abuser not only physically abused their partners (which was usually the uke), but sometimes they would sell the uke to "clients" to get money. And because i recalled those few manga's, it gave me that "aha!" moment, which helped me understand your comment xD
As some of you may already know, chapter 4 is not the end, but for those who don't, Mentaiko mentions in the atogaki(afterword page) that he/she is still working on chapter 5; http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/itai_itai_itai/uu/tr_chapter-4/pg-56/
so this manga is still ongoing.
after reading so many yaoi/BL mangas, i JUST realised, that most of them don't cover the possibility of the seme/uke being bisexual, although, some do. ^_^ Most of the time, the characters always state that they're "not gay/homo" or that they're straight. And then, when they do get into a guyxguy relationship, they think they're automatically gay/homo?!?! just..what?! they seem to skip over the idea that one or both of the characters are bi?! or maybe still straight with that one special exception?!(SP)
it annoys me, because of the denial phases (them not being gay/bi, or them not falling for a hetero guy, not being cheated on, etc) the characters go through during the story/character development, because the characters usually blurt out mean statements. TT^TT Plus, me being me, i always easily feel hurt and annoyed/angry, since throughout reading the manga, i get attached to the characters, and feel empathy towards them. x3
weird, i know, but i'm not the only one right?! T3T haaaaaah~
Nope, you are not the only one. I feel the same empathy with the characters. But I did read quite a lot of mangas with one or both characters being bi (can't think of any title right now), although it's true that most of them don't consider that possibility
Well, yaoi was created to aim at female audiences and usually created by female authors, so I think they mostly focus on the cute and romantic yet unrealistic aspect ( ̄へ ̄)
There is a yaoi with a bisexual character though - Hydra. You should really check it out. The story is very original and quite realistic. And the art style is superb.
is this Chersi in the prequel series?!?! i think it is because of the spider tattoo, but if it is, then omg he changed!!~ haha

yes it's the same guy
cuz the stabbing that they talk about took place in the other previous series
is that suppose to be the two main couple featured in the manga?!?! i'm guessing its of sawahataXhoshizaki and the other being Hoshizaki's brotherXBrothers friend?!?! the guy holding on to hoshizaki looks a lot like him so i guess brother xD
oh man i can't wait for more updates! looking forward to the following chapters!!!~ <3
omg omg omg! you guys must read "Mauri to Ryuu"!~~~ its really similar to kotetsu dining, and and its suuper cute! a man gives birth to a baby dragon!!~ like what?! its so effing adorable! oh! its also drawn my the same artist so the art is super cute! and it gives the same mood/feeling as kotetsu dining.!~
where can i read it? bec i cant find it here
I totally agree, that manga is really cute! You can read it here: http://myreadingmanga.info/moto-haruhira-mauri-ryuu-eng/
you can also read it here: http://bns.shounen-ai.net/read/series/mauri_to_ryuu/
ok i haven't read the novel, and after reading the manga, i really don't want to read the novel! (feel a little sick about the story so far)
if this is going to be a manga that i am going to like, its going to need to be a really long manga! its going to need a lot of chapters to show a reasonable development of their feelings and their relationship. probably some side stories about the seme's past about how he came to be the sadist he is xD yea, i think there is a lot the manga has to show, in order for me to like it.
Since, so far its just rape after rape, well... i think its rape because the sex seems so one sided, but i think there is consent, because if the uke really didn't want it, then it wouldn't happen, but the uke doesn't look too against it, more like if he was the seme instead, then he'd be good/ok with it, and not really be against their relationship xD
So, so far, not really liking the manga, but the art is so nice!!! which is what kept me reading, oh! and the hope that something romantic would happen xD
i also wish this artist had drawn more mangas!!~ T^T
It's your lost.the novel is sooooooo good.I almost read it every week, and I never get tired of it,in fact it's the opposite, the more I read it the more exciting I become.especially the end it's soooo beautiful.my advice is READ IT. I ensure that you will enjoy it
Noo, that's not the ending of the novel. There is much more to come.
And I don't think that the development of their relationship is too quickly.
I don't want to spoiler. That's why I give you the advice: read the novel. :)
Here is a list of all the websites where you can read the translated chapters: http://miawfantasy88.tumblr.com/post/84391855149
have fun reading it. :)
is it just me, or is reading about this couple seriously frustrating? i'm not sure if its the characters themselves, or the development of the story, but i feel quite frustrated for some reason.
does anyone else feel this way? or is it really just me? >.<
It's nt jst u. The characters make me feel suffocated and the plot is moving a bit too fast.
ya i wish they put more into the sorie
it's because this couple appeared in another story (Inu Koi) which is yet to be translated and the story of how they met and initial interactions are found in that particular manga. I think that if we were able to read Inu koi first then we would've liked this story even more...
