yusa-nim’s pen is unrivalled. i’ve probably read this like 5 times already. it’s a classical, melodrama/soap opera genre so i understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but boy do i like the heavy drama. for the record, i’m not a fan of “toxicity” but it’s not simplistic to write this off as toxic. both characters carry tremendous pain, they struggle to reconcile their circumstances (which they have been faultlessly burdened with) with their feelings, and got the happiness and liberty they deserve at the end.
