First of all, you know the translation is bad when they can’t even get the title right lmao (side eye). Anyways, this is a TRAGEDY. It’s true the ML is super terrible to MC (rape, drugs, confinement). But it’s NOT supposed to be romantic, he realises the shit he did was horrible and unforgivable later. He doesn’t go unpunished, he dies trying to protect MC from another gang (they both die I think). The second part of the book starts when they both reincarnate (sort of) into 2 different people in modern time. MC is now well-off and healthy if i remember correctly. ML spends the rest of the book feeling sorry and regretful. MC eventually forgives him, although it’s not easy for him. Like I said, it’s a tragedy so it’s all sad. Not my thing personally, so yeah read it having this in mind.

While I was doing a paper on shojo manga, and thereby of course literature review, this was mentioned by many shojo culture academics. It’s certainly one of pioneering works of BL, although the style and art may be far removed from current day works, it’s definitely worth a read and appreciation.
Kazeki is the epitome of classic literature and fine arts but thats just me the characterization here was crazy there’s a lot of manga about trauma and abuse but only few can make it seem accurate and not some fetish

I just finished reading the novel (yeah i’m late to the party), and it’s simply amazing! the manhua art is needless to say, very beautiful but it’s not as fluent or detailed so I would recommend everyone to read the novel as well

hmm...thats an interesting note about the word 주제. I did a bit of research on korean to english dictionaries and most of them do state that 주제 means subject (you can check the naver kor-english dictionary to confirm). Though contextually it does seem like a pretty odd translation. Cant confirm though cuz I'm not korean ¯_(ツ)_/¯. It seems that you might be an expert at translating in korean though, so would you perhaps be interested in helping out translate this series more accurately? As for Qiang Jin Jiu, I went looking for lianyins translation and couldnt find it. Would be great if you sent me a link or somth. Though I do think if the translations are correct and accurate, they would end up being roughly the same, no?
