There wasn’t. It seems like they changed the story in the manhwa. I noticed differences starting from the part where the Duke and the princess stood up for Edith's innocence. I don’t remember anything like that happening in the novel. Then there’s Lise and Edith’s confrontation. In the novel, Edith was put in a cell or prison, and that’s where their confrontation happened. But in the manhwa, Edith was placed in a room and treated much better. Also, in the novel, Lise wasn’t arrested, she just continued living her life and even married Cliff, which I found really annoying.
I don’t really mind the changes they made in the manhwa, it just felt too rushed. I couldn’t get emotionally invested in it. In the novel, though, I even cried during the moment when Edith was supposed to be executed. When she showed her nape to Killian, as if offering her life and believing it was truly the end for her, it was so emotional for me.
