Let’s not fat shame now plz. I agree that the top maid is a mean person, but it’s bad to belittle a character about their appearance when really it’s their personality that is reprehensible. It furthers a trope that is present in a lot of fiction where fat/ugly = evil, and these negative associations we perpetuate have an effect on our overall society’s perception and treatment of fat or ugly people.
Ps. Sorry to rant at you, I’ve just read a lot of comments lately that insult mean characters for being fat or ugly rather than for being mean and it makes me a little sad. You almost certainly meant no harm and I’m just venting my frustrations to the internet
I agree with you so much. The fatphobia is these comments in very concerning. Yes, the maid is a horrible person but her being fat has absolutely nothing to do with it and is in fact completely irrelevant.
