I was interested in where the story was heading with the really uncomfortable relationship between the girl and the rapist. It had potential to be compelling, but the execution was... ?????? I was NOT expecting it to have a "happily ever after" ending LMFAO. That shit was weird, felt sloppy and half-assed.
I liked the story at first because the author depicted the assault in a traumatic way instead of romanticizing it... I could feel how disgusted, confused, scared, and furious the girl was throughout the chapters I read. A shame the story fell off and just... Disregarded everything by blaming the rape on her.
Everyone talking about Kallisto, but honestly, I really like the dad. At first I didn’t (because he sucks at raising kids), but he grew on me. He truly does care about Penelope and had no idea what the right thing to make her happy was. The scene where he hugged her before the ceremony got me crying.
Right I really liked that chapter too. It was him showing his full acceptance and her understanding he does care and love her as a daughter.
Pink haired brother has grown on me too. I feel He genuinely sees Penelope like a sister.
