So, this scene from Fellow Traveler can't get out from my head. Hawk was a closed gay with promising career. He marry a daughter of his savior and has great position in politics. Long before the engagement and his marriage, he has secretive relationship with Tim who was an ordinary man trying to have his career in government. Their relationship is on and off, but they could never really refuse each other so they can't just separate. One day, Hawk's wife have a problem in her pregnancy but no one by her side especially her own husband. His wife didn't blame him for it, even after she knew Hawk actually isn't occupied with work at the time. She knew Hawk screwing around and she just accept it. This gave Hawk guilt. He then ruin Tim's reputation by reporting for being gay so he could make Tim go away. As a result, Tim could never have career in government and he was forced to leave the city. It's not like Tim is a difficult character who'll cling to Hawk. He will go away if Hawk wanted him to, but Hawk just chose to ruin his life. Tim's reaction to this was a confusion then acceptance. He leave the city and just continue his life. When he met Hawk again, he has nor resentment or demanding explanation. He just treated Hawk like that one guy that from the past.
I wish to have BL with the same vibe like Tim. He was brtrayed by his lover, but he didn't make it a significant hole or resentment in his life. He just continue to live. If you happen have the title, please share ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
