But no proper dentist would begin to randomly make holes in your mouth and then pull teeth without consulting with you, especially no anesthesia or anything.
My guess is that the author didn’t purposely depict the guy as a horrible medical practitioner but simply hadn’t been to the dentist themselves to understand how they operate.
Doctors put a lot of effort and sleepless nights into their work for the sake of other people. Being involved in the medical domain myself, it’s frustrating to witness insulting depictions like this.
