He probably relized the truth of OG callan and when he is dying, out of guilt from his mother killing him, he wants the axis of time, yes
He actually loved his brothers especially og Callan. But pretend not to, so that his mother won’t do anything to them if she finds out if they’re close. He was devastated when he died and when he found out that og Callan was murdered, he went mad. When he had heard about the time axis, he planned to use it to bring back his brother, that’s why he started a war against the other empire. Franz is the third person to use the Time Axis.
When Callan learned about the truth he sets out to destroy it cause when someone else uses the time axis the previous user disappears from existence. That’s why Callan og body doesn’t exist. He was second person to use the Time Axis for some reason.
I feel like Og Callan’s mother was kind and loving towards Franz cause we already know his mother a piece of shit. Maybe that’s why Franz cared a lot for Og Callan, he felt bad that his mother killed Og Callan’s mother.
