I am a huge fan of works by this author but I remembered when this came out and I believe this was there first one andddddd you can really tell.
The pacing, the age gap, stepbrothers and the overall drawn out weird plot shows how early on this was for them especially when you compare it to Taming the Tiger, tale of the yellow dragon, blood link or any of their other works.
Then I'm guessing you haven't read Miscreants and Mayhem given there's a whole subplot about Namwoo and Pilgyun having a pseudo incestuous relationship and how Namwoo has to be fucked/raped by his adopted brothers as punishment ordered by the man who adopted them??
There's also the questionable methods Road, in Blood Link, practiced in order for Seolhyun to acclimate as a female lycan when he was a child which basically boiled down to drowning him in male lycan sex pheromones 24/7.

I just finished my monthly reread of Taming the Tiger and now I'm about to go read that one. Mania is also pretty good.
The only one I can't go back to do a reread of is Serene Bird and that's 'cause I will never recover from seeing the mc being repeatedly kidnapped, drugged and gangraped by the ml's psychotic brother. I remember it all too well lol it's also why I'm currently struggling with going back to reread and finally finish Pearl Boy. Kinda wild given how fucked up my tastes are, too lol

I've read them all but I just cannot handle serene bird . I swear I dropped it at chapter 45 ..... not sure when I will go back (⊙…⊙ ).
OMGOSH Pearl Boy is amazing as well (its defo a journey tho!)
Also I keep hearing so many sad things about the ' Tale of the Yellow Dragon ' so I'm scared to read it #－.－)
