I see a lot of people confused about this, so I figured I'd add in the necessary context.
As per the novel, the idea is that someone from a lower class background would never have the nerve to reject tea offered by their higher ups, especially when pressed. In a strictly hierarchical society, a random citizen with no backing rejecting the Duke/ Imperial family member/ Commander is unheard of. Thus, a boy from the mountains doing this says something about his character, and can also be seen as suspicious/ noteworthy etc.
All those posts you see on the regular, "My wife divorced me out of nowhere ", "I was Blindsided", etc. Look at the huge difference in which they see their married life. She was practically a prisoner, and he thinks all the times he forced her away from friends and family were happy times. There's also that unequal distribution of labour and severe communication gaps.
Everyone surprised by the ML's behavior has to see how so many marriages work. This is a huge problem in real life. In fact, I'm glad to see a representation of such in manhwa.

A really solid story. Good pacing, character depth, character motivations, art style- I liked all of it. No bull crap rape or tantrums or whatever the fuck haunts most BLs these days
No. Stupid af. I'm not against BL, I love a good Royalty setting, but I cannot tolerate a Dumb FL Syndrome in Shoujo or BL.
And when he's crying and apologising to you, your first reaction is to fuck him. I don't know why I can't get past that- it's just so dumb??? Makes no logical sense. I know it's yaoi, and I should have expected it, but it's like someone you thought was normal acting deranged out of the blue.
It's a very well curated list, that gives a spotlight to lesser known pieces. And everything on the list is a banger :)
I've never seen so many people hate the ML. It's not even like the ML from Jinx, where he's cruel and abusive. I think everyone here just finds him irritating af, which is worse than being a bad person.

Her looks have always been a point of discussion in manga, but the Mangaka is suddenly making her look... softer? Or is it a changing POV? It could be that the earlier version was how Yoshino saw herself, and the current look is how Kirishima and others view her. I love the Mangaka's art-style, so I hope it's something like that, instead of them trying to change their style to make their female characters meet conventional beauty standards more.
