It's so much better than all the same cookie cutter styles. Being able to broaden your horizons will prevent you from missing out on great stories. For example, Shingeki no Kyojin has an incredibly unique art style (manga especially) but it is one of the most beloved Japanese works of media over the last ~10ish years.
