Well from what I know what’s more important is when the alpha bites the nape of the omega which means that they become a pair for life. Thus, both can only smell the pheromones of each other and other alphas won’t be attracted to the pheromones of the omega that has a pair (as far as I know so correct me if I’m wrong.

It is like claiming the person like a life time partner. It depends on the manga. Like many of the manga the Alpha usually bites the Omega in the scent gland. They are manga where the omega can only mark the Alpha(I think it is "Kiss me Liar")

normally if a alpha bites a omega in the neck, the omega is "theirs", they normally cant have sexuall intercourse with someone other than their alpha, and normally their alpha is the one who can only smell their pheromones. otherwise if a omega is biting a alpha, the alpha will only get more sexuelly aroused to the point they are loosing it, like crazy about their partner (if the alpha also likes the omega). or nothing haha

Usually they bite each other if they are a fated pair (soulmates) but for example: A falls in love with an O (that isn’t his soulmate) and then A mets O (his real soulmate), A and O (real soulmate) will both start their heat circle and they both will suffer from their pheromones. O (not soulmate) will suffer from a broken heart I suppose, seeing your bf in pain bc you ain’t his pair, hurts (I suppose)

There are different interpretations with bite marks or marking in an omegaverse set up but 1 universal explanation is that a bite mark signifies that an omega and an alpha are bonded and mated, meaning they can no longer be satisfied with having sex with others besides their mates, pleasure would only be felt for their bonded mate and when marking it blends the pheromones of the alpha with the omega, altering their smell and singnifying that they have a mate or are bonded which in turn can prevent other alphas and omegas to approach them in a sexual way. In different omegaverse, there's only the alpha who does the marking but there are also some who both mark each other, and some where the omega's mark is the only permanent one, while the alpha's fades away (I think this was in the case in Kiss me Liar). The bite marks become an erogenous zone. Markings, at some stories, can't be overwritten or be taken back if you don't like your partner, these are permanent that is why in some omegaverse, omegas are careful about having their necks bitten and marked because this is irreversible. There are also some omegaverse that fated pairs/destined pairs can only mark each other and other marks that isn't from their pair is temporary. Different omegaverse have different 'rules' or specific details about certain elements in the story such as the bite mark/marking, the pheromes, the ranking, the second gender description and much more. Having read a lot of omegaverse, I also read different ways and versions of such.

Depends on the mangas author, but usually it means a change in their mental state due to either environmental aggressors (a mental snap or anger) or chemical changes due to rut (an alphas heat).
