At least Miho said what I've been thinking. He thought Hiroya meant the kiss(es) as a joke. Why wouldn't he? Fuck, dude never even said why he keeps kissing Miho. I just hate the fact that it feels like a one-way train. Hiroya does all this shit and brushes it off with an apology and it's Miho who apologizes for not understanding him?

This 100%. It is the Japanese "non-confrontational but want you to mind read" behaviour on steroids. I get that they do it for self preservation sake but god is it feckin annoying me.
Uuuuuh....honestly, personally, nope. I can forgive a lot of things but lack of resolution in terms of character direction is a waste of time. I mean, shitty stuff happening coz of certain characters. Whatever issue they were involved in lacked any solid resolution. There's just no sense of catharsis in this novel.

I mean I hate enemy to lovers when framed in this way because it makes zero sense how any love would develop realistically. One can’t be captured, assaulted, abused, and threatened and fall in love with a clearly sadistic psychopath because it’s “cute” it just takes you completely out of the “story”
Think so, too. And if they still do fall in love in the end, this story has some serious stockholm syndrom characteristics. Wouldn't be too satisfying..
