Shima reminds me of the guy I liked. We met at the beginning of the school year similarly to him and mitsumi, we became friends quickly and I ended up catching feelings. We kind of drifted apart afterwards. He then changed universities and we haven't talked since. It's a little sad but I think it's better off this way. This manga is very dear to my heart and I relate to it on a deep personal level. It's unlike anything I've read before.
I have been a hard time crying but this still made me cry. I would give anything for real life older women like her to heal their inner girls. I'm surrounded by broken women and I hopelessly want to go back in time, befriend them and help them break free from the one role that women were and still are expected to play for the rest of their lives. Seeing her granddaughter supporting her like that was incredibly touching. She's beautiful and her love for makeup, romance movies and women all are beautiful.
