There is one thing that I cannot understand when it comes to the ending of this manga. In ch. 45 pg. 7-11, there is a conversation between Mookyul and the President which (to me) sounds like a blackmail for Mookyul to remain President's lapdog.
Neither in the moment Mookyul is reunited with Ewon nor in the moment the story ends are there any explanations concerning the current status of Mookyul and President's relationship.
Is that part an open ending?
Considering Ewon's reaction when he first found out about it, it seems unreal that this wouldn't consist of a possible issue in their future. Does this mean that he is ignoring it, not knowing about it or how-come he suddenly became OK with sharing his lover?
In my head, I always believed that the relationship that Mookyul and the President had, had finished when Mookyul left everyone to be with Ewon. I think that Mookyul loves Ewon far too much and is too invested in Ewon to keep the relationship with the President and now it's simple adoptive son and father relationship. I could be completely wrong but by the words that Mookyul says and the actions that he does Ewon have shaped this view that I hold.
Re-read the last chapters. Everything regarding the relationship with the president was settled by the end. Mookyul left the President and gave up everything (the position with the gang, money, etc.) to be with Fox Jun and then Mookyul gets kidnapped and Fox Jun asks the President to help him save his son. When the President pretty much kidnaps Mookyul after that, (this is when Fox Jun leaves Mookyul again and goes back to his hometown) he convinces him to be his successor and continue leading the gang. At this point, it is understood that their relationship will no longer entail that of lovers, but strictly father/son only (because Mookyul made it clear that he will never betray his possessive Fox Jun again). The president accepts that, and Mookyul accepts because he understands that he needs the power to protect not only Fox Jun but his gang as well.
Pity it is over. Loved it!
