The four of them were already strong enough to survive but he(kangjin) was becoming op with that copy ability paired with that face and leadership, that he could've been a potential 2nd ML and a threat for the current ML, in which case the author had to nerf him and out of the picture so unfortunately there will not be any jealousy scenes and ptsd to ptsd lovers healing each other after their battle, as I was hoping.... I mean, I guess so but Seoyoon was a minor while Kangjin was an adult. Plus, Kangjin doted on Seoyoon and Domin bc they were young but had the most important roles in the battle. The "if I can't have you, no one can" still applies here even without competitors "you cannot have yourself because you're mine" type of thing, especially when the target attempts to run away from an obsessive and possessive person when there are no more outlet for that violence to release it from other than the target (which usually leads to either a stab or a slash in the ankle from the many mangas I've read which did happen) so obviously its no love no more its cornering.
