Why would you even push someone, who you know is not comfortable with their relationship bring public, to air out their business in the public because you feel "if things were private it would go no where"? Sou has an idea of his past and knows that he's hiding something so obviously he will ask, but it's such a shit move to say to do it right then and there because "no one will care" YES THEY WILL.
In a conservative country where homosexual relationships are frowned on (as the Manhwa says) its perfectly understandable Geon would think that way, Sou should understand as well since he was literally bullied for just being fat. And I understand Geon's point since he seems like the type to overthink HEAVILY on the what-ifs, and he does seem to be trying to leave his hook-up past behind, though him avoiding telling Sou the past and suggesting a break up is irratitng, it's within reason.
