Maybe, just like how our mc travelled to the past he instead travelled to the future. Perhaps he saw something in the future related to mc, for example maybe she was dead in the future so when he returned back to his time he tried to change it? Idk, usually there is a good justification for a ml’s actions

There is justification for everything in stories. unless it involves rape or pushing someone towards suicide which I hate and is so fucking stupid. Other than that the author always has justification for everything, It’s to make the ml look good. That’s the reason the ml is the ml he has to look good.
