i kinda like the depiction of psychopaths here. usually, the media reinforces them as these insane killers with no rationale, very obsessive and possessively in love with only their partners, restraining them in socializing and whatnots, then somehow labelling it as "psychopaths". always romanticizing and making them look mindless and reckless.
i love how the author addressed that while he cared for the uke, he wouldn't put him above his needs first. he wasn't in love (as most of them do not feel such), and he has controlled his urges solely because he dislikes the consequences. he's manipulative, selfish, and impulsive at times. it would be somehow weird if the author gave them a solve-it-all happy ending.
