people should stop assessing these characters at face value bc both are morally grey. objectively, e would definitely be inherently worse due to his upbringing with or without h’s influence. i’m in no way trying to defend anyone but i feel like it’s weird that h is being targeted.
i don’t think that h approached e with ulterior motives, rather he pitied e & was just trying to make small talks. h’s feelings evolved but not romantically, i’d say that he started caring more for e bc they got to know more abt each other. now i think that h was definitely wrong when he did not outright reject e when e confessed bc h knew of e’s situation & bc e was still young.
i want to give h the benefit of the doubt since he was probably unaware of e’s psychological issues but h definitely was not a good partner. he did not like e as much as e liked him, and he even went as far as to hide the relationship from outsiders bc h probably wasn’t taking e seriously. taking into consideration that there’s only 15 chapters & not much was revealed about h, it’s hard to characterize him as anything besides a person with a shit personality & insecurities.
i feel like their romantic relationship was doing okay until h started to be more aware of his female coworker. h probably thought that e was naive & won’t suspect h of cheating but e is everything but normal, leading h to resort to manipulative tactics and eventually their fallout (which ended in murder erm).
also i feel like e’s issues weren’t caused by h but rather they were trigger by h since h was the only one that ever cared for e. again there’s only been 15 chapters that were rather smutty so this is definitely not my final opinion
