I really liked the story, just think they could all have talked more in the ending. It reminded me of "please save my earth" a very good 80's manga where the characters have memories of a past life together and get together to understand what happened to them.
Anyway, I wish they could only understand they are not Kallima, Arie, Henan, etc, this is a different life and they all should leave the mistakes and regrets of the past behind.
Y'all in the comments discussing if he's green or red. I don't think he is simply 'one color '.
Gunwon feels innocent, kinda childish, almost like he was programmed to do something, like 'maintain humanity/ society existing. He does not know what is right, what is wrong, how things are done, what's is moral or not. And we can see that by the way he acts and the questions he makes to the Mc. He also said something about left the medicine for when one of the "hounds" need it, since they are the ones that go out to scout for food and stuff. (So maybe the other hounds are like him to?)
But the other residents and our Mc are afraid of him, cause they (and we, the readers) we see him through our moral compass, from our modern society.
But of course, if he is not human, wasn't raised in our society, then we can't judge him for not understanding.
If think we need more time to understand him and the story more.
this is exactly what I thought!
Think similarly, I'm pulling it out my ass but with how he seems he probably had no moral guidance and only awakened? came to life? during the apocalypse where everything is already screwed. So with his small view of the world, little boy big body Guwon thinks whacking people's heads like baseballs is somewhat acceptable.
Until we understand more of him and the town's history it's just unclear. xd
i dunno!
