The reason it’s not great ML isn’t disclosing that MC is actually a namer (specifically his) is because now that we know they are going to develop feelings for each other/what is most likely a positive relationship, once it is revealed (I’m guessing by MCs parents in some pseudo humorous way like “you’ve always had this birthmark”) MC is going to immediately overthink it as “ I never had free will and we never had feelings for each other, we were only driven together by the words on our skin just like all these posts on Reddit said, just like all these media outlets said, I can’t trust my feelings and now I certainly can’t trust YOU.”

That’s why it’s bad.

Also, please note, withholding information IS considered deception. Deception can be a form of manipulation, however manipulation is not necessarily deception. “All squares are rectangles”, you know? If he was actively manipulating, this would be gaslighting MC into thinking he wasn’t a namer. However, since he’s doing it indirectly, I’d say it’s just on the side of deception.

Period!! Withholding is tantamount to lying. If you can't be honest about something because it will affect a situation/relationship, then you are being dishonest. Which is lying.

    THIS! agreed.
The way some of the comment seems confused is enough shown they prolly either too young (prolly underage) to understand or too blind to realise what is right/wrong.

I think his reasoning was also for himself. I think ML wanted to see how he felt about this person as a person. Disclosing the info would have caused MP to likely be distressed and feel betrayed by his parents. Then, he would fight against getting to know ML, or feel pressured to act a certain way with ML. ML knew that, or suspected it, and wanted to see for himself, if they actually meshed as just two individuals without the chosen one nonsense on top of it all. The fact that he never registered to find his namer pair, shows that he also didn't want to be tied to "fate".

Also, deception isn't always a negative. If the truth does more harm to an individual (ie if their hair looks bad to you but they either love it or are too overwhelmed to fix it) then deception can be a good thing.

I think it is all very situational. We should also keep in mind the ages of the individuals in the story. The average man's frontal lobe, which is in charge of decision making, isn't fully formed until 28. It's actually one of the reasons men are more likely to die or get into accidents during their 20s when compared with women.

    Agreed i

Yes, I agree. The angle I was taking was more so answering those confused as to how this was considered “bad”, “lying” or “manipulation.” It’s a different conversation entirely on the reasoning behind it and whether there’s any percentage of justification, which (depending who you ask) there’s always a way to support your choice.

An extreme example that totally has nothing to do with this but I am ONLY using for context of justification: “Mr. Scientist, why are you killing this entire population of one eyed frogs?” “Well, because then only the two eyed frogs can produce which will one day let ALL frogs see better. It’s for the greater good, so of course I’m justified enacting this deplorable action!”

Obviously, this is a different circumstance, but it goes to show that in problematic relationships/situations (not this yet) where deception and/or manipulation become a habit, justification is a tricky line to walk! If he really wanted to see how they got along without the complication of their “fate” he could have skipped having him strip and then seeing if they meshed, dated naturally and then determined later if he had the name when sex came up organically. But he didn’t unfortunately, which will lead to issues down the line no doubt.

    You have good points though!!

YESS! Not to mention, being a Namer is something legally important! That definitely has to be some type of crime in his world lmao

I don’t know if I even want the next season, I don’t know if I have the capacity for this whole new plot twist arc

Danieka April 22, 2025 3:50 pm

I love everything about this except for the “I have the memories of your dead lover” because I haaate the substitute trope please do not let it go that route and have them develop feelings some other way and NOT off the back of the other relationship

Danieka April 22, 2025 2:05 am

When an author is fond of rape, because even when it’s unnecessary to the plot or the MC/ ML are “happy together now” there’s always going to be that energy in the sex scenes that give mad SA discomfort.

Danieka April 21, 2025 7:16 am

I, too, would projectile vomit if my sexual partner turned into a giant fucking cockroach mid-bang.

Danieka April 14, 2025 11:17 pm

ML is absolute garbage (we all know, I’m not even getting into it) and MC is mad irritating.

Every 5 minutes he’s like “I can’t live like this, you don’t own me, I have to escape!” just to switch up the second ML does something that’s semi decent (not even ABOVE decent).

Like are you fucking dense, every other sentence the ML can’t hold back from LITERALLY describing you as property who has no say in anything that happens, confirming you’ll be the side piece when he’s married and (SPOILER) you can’t leave the fucking house which has 24/7 monitoring. But sure, worry about when he gets hurt and ask how busy his day has been, stupid ass.

    vmendes98 April 15, 2025 4:24 pm

I know the mc is kinda annoying but I think he acts like that because growing up no one showed him love or affection, so even the most little act of “care” he sees it as something “special”, to put it some way

Danieka April 13, 2025 4:11 am

I came to the comments expecting an apology for Yanagi and yet why am I not surprised to find additional death wishes for him (and his wife, who is at fault but not deserving of DEATH??)

Danieka April 10, 2025 9:17 am

I’m seeing comments checking people for forgetting about the brother (rip angel) like he wasn’t only given an honorable mention and no screen time 12,347 sex scenes ago. Get your feet off these people’s necks.

    punkpixie321 April 11, 2025 2:59 am

You’re so brave and so right! Webcomics have a billion chapters and they’ll bring back a character from eons ago and idk who they are.

    bunnibabie April 11, 2025 3:37 am

I don’t even remember his name or what he looked like we literally only got one funeral pic and that’s it

Danieka April 9, 2025 5:52 pm

Doesn’t act like the adult she is and clearly state why she’s there and own her relationship with Hyundo proudly to ease his mind I’m going to beat her ass transcendentally.

If this author really thinks we want to see this poor man have a whole secondary breakdown arc before getting happiness while watching La La Loopsy over here run into walls like a Roomba, then they can’t read the room for shit.

Danieka April 4, 2025 8:58 pm

If Guwon really isn’t human, maybe it’s connected to the title. The second time the King defies the gods and evades his punishment or “death”, he returned to the mortal world to live out the remainder of his life. The first time he trapped Thanatos and as a result no one could pass over (similar to what we see here with the living dead.) His failure to see fault and repeat his mistake a second time was when he really pissed off the gods and received the boulder rolling decree. Maybe Guwon doesn’t have his memory because he defied death on a deeper level than the regular humans surviving the apocalypse and he’ll be receiving/has already received a cross to bear to resolve the apocalypse or protect what he cares about.

    Danieka April 4, 2025 9:00 pm

Personally I thought his stitches were tattoos since every other part of him is so detailed and his sutures are not (plus no one other than corpses have their sutures in forever), but it’s always good to have more than one working theory~
