I think it’s because they fall in love with the soul of that child without paying attention to the physical side (it is not sexual in the beginning ), they know that person will grow up into a kind hearted man thus they wait for him and that’s only when the physical attraction also forms!

Looking for a manga where the the uke thinks the new boss in his office is hot and doesn't recognise its a guy he rejected in high-school.
