I read this before and I had to drop it because it seemed like the author was just trying to make a problem when there was no problem. ML is a ragging asshole we know this, MC knows this but to cut ML some slack ML didn’t know MC was pregnant or and Omega. He had to find out from a hook-up at the club. MC’s family has been insisting that he’s a beta plus he had that surgery and can’t release pheromones. ML learns of said pregnancy and runs to him and his first statement was I didn’t know you were an omega, to any other normal person that would be grounds for a change in conversation. But it wasn’t and it only escalates from here from what I remember. Some people choose their own misery.
You sounded like " I’ve played these games before’” — haha I get it, but I think this one’s a little different. Yeah, ML is clearly a jerk, no arguing there. But saying the story is just “making a problem when there’s none” kinda skips over the fact that MC had real reasons to hide his identity. His family erased part of who he was, he went through surgery, and he’s been forced to play the role of a beta for years — it’s not like he had the luxury of being honest, even with himself.
So when ML finds out through someone else, yeah, it’s chaotic, but it’s because everything around them is built on fear and silence, not because the author’s forcing unnecessary drama. That tension feels intentional, not lazy.
That said, I totally get if it’s not your thing — this kind of messy emotional stuff isn’t for everyone!
