With ch.606, I can see why Carol would feel like sempai doesn't see her romantically.
Until recently I don't think most readers expected it either. I thought he liked Tomo. :S But it could have just been admiration and some attraction (cause who wouldn't think she's hot) while Carol is the one he always loved. (▰˘◡˘▰)

I think that Mana has telepathy, but just fills in actions and emotions with her own ideas. Thus times like when she saw Toda's nose bleeding through her power was her rationalizing the emotions he felt. In fact, wasn't there not any images for the thoughts she saw when it showed her younger, or even when she first met Toda?
