I felt like this had the potential to go on longer and at least develop the main relationship more. It honestly felt like the main couple was being overshadowed by the conflict/the non-romantic plot (the curse), and we didn’t get enough in-depth intimate moments. Imo, sort of wasted potential. Not really short and sweet, just a good story cut short. It was a good read though, overall

Always love this author’s stories, mostly because the panels aren’t overpopulated with words. In so many stories every page is half filled with words and i end up skimming instead of actually reading. For some weird reason though, the last chapter of most of this author’s manga always feel like an add-on instead of an ending, if that makes sense...

I heard about this story after season 1 of Yuri on Ice ended and a huge chunk of the fandom moved on to this manhwa. I kept seeing it around, read about five chapters, and dropped it right after that because I couldn’t stomach it back then. Maybe like 3-4 years ago? I can’t remember, but I remember thinking it was completely fucked (which it is). I really enjoyed the plot and the characters, but it’s still leaving me feel weird and creeped out like I felt a few years ago. Yikes. The art was really good though, and the story was nicely paced !!

Can we appreciate the writing! The pacing is really good, not too rushed but not so slow that all of the readers are frustrated. In a lot of stories, the side couples, at least to me, don’t feel like an actual important part of the plot. It’s like the characters are pushed together by force and no reason after the real story is losing steam, like the relationship is completely unnecessary and end up adding nothing to manga/manhwa or even taking away from the appeal of the story. I really appreciate how the “side” characters (especially Jihye) were introduced as their own separate individuals with real personalities, and because of their excellent implementation into the story, it doesn’t seem like they’re just there for the sake of dating another side character. I also like how it’s obvious Gyoon liked Jihye since pretty much the beginning, so that when/if their relationship starts to take off, it doesn’t feel too forced or rushed. I wish Here U Are’s pacing was a bit more like this. I love the story regardless and understand the author wants a slow burn, but I really just fell in love with how Sign is flowing so far.

It all comes down to planning. In other webtoons, side couple may seems out of place or forced because author initially didn’t plan for them to happen, or did it poorly. You don’t see this often in manga because most published works have an editor who sits down with author to discuss the direction they want to go and give recommendations.
Reading that side story gave me whiplash. I was never into brother complexes/incesty relationships, stories like that make my stomach turn :/
