They wouldn't even be together if it's not for Ouga bumbling while pretending to cool guy his way through them getting together and staying together. All you guys complaining about the ears... okay, ears on top of the head? Cute. But animal ears where human ears are? Can you imagine cute Usami having droopy side ears (okay, this is not so bad), or Toshimasa's horse ears, or those lion ears and pointy wolf ears on the sides of Ouga's and Shirou's heads? Or if you keep the animal ears on top of the head, do you just keep the side of the head flat? I was looking at some side views of Toshimasa and imagined no human ears and that also looked weird. Maybe the author struggled with our dilemma, too, while designing the characters. I would love to see their commentary about it, lol!
I don't really mind about the four ears, but one example of how characters look only with their animal ears would be Tokishiba's Yagi to Ookami
I was just thinking about that. In the manga the mangaka basically covered where the humane ears would be with their hairs. I don't think you even really notice the absence of the human ears if you aren't looking for them.
