I mean this guy has bulletproof mentality:
He was abandoned as a young child by his parent.
He lost his beloved adoptive parents in a tragic accident.
He had to sell his body (to both men and women) to get by.
He then got sold to a woman who raped him on a daily basis and made him impotent (plus hairless down there).
He was forced to join a war he didn't want to have any part in and as a result got brutally raped.
He was captured by his shitty brother and father only to be locked in a dark room for a whole month and then sent to the one person he tries to escape from.
Still the only thing this guy thinks about is to survive and live his not very fortunate life.
I wish I were that fixated on living :)

I read it in one go! The story was good at first then it got swarmed with flashbacks, there was even one for a spare key that Daniel gave to Ruth, wtf
And Elia really didn't change that much till the end, what was wrong? He could easily beat up the mayor's son to a pulp and even nearly kill him, but he couldn't protect his own ass? He was like a damsel in distress all the time!
And what the heck was wrong with Daniel? Was he bipolar, borderline, or DID? One day he is bitchy and an asshole, another day he is supportive and a lover boy?
Tbh I can't really say I enjoyed the second half, it was torture
The cap was stupid from the start, he knew it too, that's why he disliked anyone smart around him, he made the white-haired dude who was smart act like a dog, I don't feel sorry for him
