Actually if you think about it, it sounds the opposite of blue exorcist lol. No one liked ren at first and the op didn’t mention twins or exorcists

It is not blue exorcist. The manga wasn’t heavily driven plot. Plus it had more of comedy theme compare to blue exorcist.

But on a more serious note, cigarette smoking seems to be quite a common theme in Japanese/Korean comics. Whereas elsewhere (in real life) it is frowned on to smoke in public, and banned in most confined spaced. Yet we see in some comics set in S,K/Japan people even smoking inside hospitals and offices!

I read them not long ago and they were amazing (▰˘◡˘▰) but thank you for suggesting

"Seafoam Diary." (I don't like, but surely others will.)
"Enokan." (Yaoi? Bara?)
"No Sun Summer." (Features a lovely cast of lgbtq characters.)
"Countdown to Countdown." (Is it even yaoi? Gay characters =/= BL)
"Crushed." (Tooo much sex. Gagh.)
"Banquet." (Hmm.)
"Griefer Belt." (Features a player (or, if you're asking me, a man-slut). No longer my cup of tea.)
"Stereophonic." (Which hasn't been updated in nearly a year...Cry.)
