It was all about how the mc came up with a way to make M&A easier for the company their firm supports. (M&A is merger and acquisition I believe). He plans to use the affair of the ceo of the construction company to be taken over. The ceo is married is and is having an affair with an actor (male) who is also married. But they canât use this info the attack the construction company because the company name itself is big enough that just a scandal wouldnât really harm it.
Now the cream of the this chapter. The ml asked the mc how to use this info. And mc suggests a negotiation that suits their company best (as in its a form of threat to create a scandal rather than creating one right away and an option that the mc previously would never use since itâs unethical). The ml says he failed because his idea isnât enough to reach the perfect fool proof results. So the mc brings up another piece of information on the construction company. Environmental laws violations. Thatâs why the snake depiction. The mc is starting to think and act like the ml and leaving his pure and ethical ways behind and becoming ambitious instead. Because laws violations being made public is the right thing. Instead he will use that info to threaten the company to sweeten the M&A for their company.
