I like this series a lot. I hate how Ido never deserved Sejin, but I am liking how Ido isnt magically going to just change his ways just because he knows he did wrong last time. Ido is unable to communicate his emotions, fears, expectations... Before he would just show anger and abuse as a mechanism of defense, now he is being too careful and thinking too much and not doing much...
People dont change to their core in just 1 year... IF there is genuine change, it can take decades.... i like how this is shown through him. I read somewhere we tend to hate the characters that represents us more... And that really irked me as much as Ido does ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ
If you have a problematic family member, DO SOMETHING.
Report them, send them to a mental hospital, send them to jail... Dont just wait for the worst to happen and/or hope for the best. Family members should be charged as accomplices for any felonies done by the family members. Its a shame this story is common irl, being assulted by someone you know and "trust". The ex-wife did the bare minimum to contain her brother, the parents failed to see what was so wrong with him and should definitely go to jail.
This is one of my favorite stories. Exposing how depression can seem to others like "happy/joyful" for the sake of not being seen as a "load". Denying the painful memories, erasing any physical evidence of it happening, does nothing but sink you deeper into the guilt, loneliness, shame, anxiety, anger, etc. How one traumatic event can and will spiral your mental state into insanity (squizophrenia, PTSD, insomnia) if not attended professionally and surrounded by a safe community (family, friends, partners, etc). This is unfortunately, not a fiction story...
10/10 for beautiful illustrations and writing portraying all these complex situations, not an easy read if you have been through similar trauma or are not mentally ok with handling mature content like this
Can someone spoil it and provide a summary of how it all comes down and hoepfully soon gets a somewhat bittersweet ending? I love this series so much
Spoiler
I don't remember much but they will set the church on fire and Anette will be buried below. Heiner will find her thou and she will be alive. Kathrine is dead unfortunately but her baby and husband are okay. Anette bought house on the beach, war is won, and Heiner will visit her occasionally because he finally understood that he loves her. I think she didn't forgave him at first but in some time they became a little closer and in the end they kiss

Annette became a composer and her piano skills are famous, she received requests to do interviews for newspapers and accepted from one. I think Heiner is deaf with one ear or almost deaf. Actually I cried a lot on thi novel. It really bitter sweet. When Heiner won the war, he went to visit Anette with a flower bouquet and saw her laughing with Ryan.He though he didnt have the right to mess with her happiness and left the bouquet at the doorstep before leaving. Anette saw it and know it was from him and run to meet with him.
