Any thoughts of how So Won will react to the reason why the king killed his father and that the king was on;y trying to do what he thought right? Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
Kouren seems like the type who would fall to someone like Hak instead of a flower boy type like So Won. OFC, there is always that one in a million possibility of a love at first sight. Actually, there are other way to make peace without marrying each other. Nowadays, country make peace treaty, trade treaty, and negotiations. Even if Kouren marry So Won doesn't mean she won't betray her or no war in the future. There are no guarantee, it won't happens. Happens a lot in history where a princess marry to her enemy country and still, war between the country happens.
We still don't know exactly WHY King Ill had Yuhon killed. This atrocity MIGHT have had something to do with it, but at this point the knowledge only serves to reveal to us something about Soo Won's father and his personality that we didn't know. It's pretty shocking, and it makes me understand why their father broke tradition and choose Ill to be king instead, but, unfortunately, Ill was unsuitable for different reasons.
True. This chapter serve the purpose to present to us the different side of Yu Hon, the hero general that is loved and respected by many. This chapter also serve purpose to show us the reason of King Il extreme pacifist way. Both Yu Hon and King Il have their dark side and flaw. Sadly, both of them unsuited to be a King.
But personally, I think the previous King aka Yona grandfather might choose King Il because of the knowledge of Yona as the Hiryuu reincarnation. Therefore, giving chance for Yona to ascend to the throne after her father.
I can't remember. Was Yona 'told as a child' the legends if the Dragons? I was thinking she didn't like her red hair, but I might be mixing that up from another manga. I can't remember if it ever said when her grandfather choose her father and when he died in relation to her birth. Did Yona ever meet her grandfather? Or I guess the question should be did he ever meet Yona? That's not to say that you might not be right, I just think her upbringing would have been a little different if that were the case (that is, if grandfather had any input in it - you think he would have told his son, but then that doesn't guarentee Ill would have decided to act on the information and possibly 'blight' his daughter's childhood and 'twist' her mind with 'violent' thoughts).
It could also be Grandfather didn't want the kingdom in the hands of a warmonger King and realized Yuhon would support his brother. Honestly, IF Ill could blunt Yuhon's edge, as it were, and Yuhon could push his pacifistic brother to the point of *defending*, they would have made an incredible team that would make Kouka a rock stable kingdom. The question is where/why did that team fall apart? I wish we could hear some 'tales of the past' from Hak's grandfather. Let's see, Hak is Wind, right? Have we met the Sky tribe yet? Is that the palace? Didn't they say Yuhon was general of the Sky tribe? I forget so many things from the beginning...
Well, this "early" in the mystery, there are a good many theories that can still be considered valid - stand alone or even combined. Your's may still have a place in the mix. I just don't remember enough about Yona's grandfather to recall if he ever met her (even as an infant) or if he believed the prophecy. I just don't remember :( . I'm beginning to think I may need to go back and reread at some point... maybe even make a time line - lol.
yeah I don't recall them ever talking about having met before.
But here's another thought for you guys. The priests were chased out of the palace after some kind of prophecy. I have been thinking for awhile now that the prophecy may have been about Soo Won and Yona. Like if Soo Won ever took the throne, there would be war and Yona would become a warrior princess and find the 4 dragons. That could explain why King Il was so against Yona ever touching a weapon, and why she could marry anyone BUT Soo Won. It could have also been the catalyst for why Yu Hon turned against his brother, causing King Il to have him killed (that last part is another theory of mine)
I forgot about the priests. It's not uncommon for a king to 'condemn the messenger' if they don't like the message, so it's a theory as valid as any other we have right now. I'm going to be paying close attention to see just how 'prophetic' you are - lol - cuz the idea has some merit even if no proof right now :) .
the only thing I recall about Yona's mother is she was killed when Yona was very young. before Yu Hon died, because it was before the three of them got sick. Soo Won, to get her out of her depression after her mom died, promised to hold her hand while she slept, just like her mom did. Which when they were all sick, was mentioned to Hak. So yes, there was some mention of her in the backstories when they were kids
I hate this and like this at the same time. I think something is wrong with me
