In this house we do not blindly hate Kaoru for 'giving up' so easily and we understand that although he loves the seme so much, he would hate to be the one standing between him and his 'fated one'.
am I wrong tho? They haven't been together for long but this is how Kaoru reacts. Their feelings are still strong, but this is gonna happen over and over again. Does Kaoru plan to never put in the work in their relationship, letting go in the face of any possibility of Hara finding better elsewhere?
I thought Kaoru understood better what it would mean to get with Hara and that relationships ain't all fate. One has to at least try to keep the other a bit.
And no, this is not "blind hate", thanks for not putting words in my mouth.
Sorry, but I do not agree with you. Kaoru is trying, was trying and has been trying all along; he has done the effort of trusting they could be happy together and that even though things might finish it was worth the effort. They have been going out for a whole year already and I know it might not be too much for us but is the longest Kaoru has been with a partner in his life, so it is natural for him to feel anxious about it.
I'd tell you to read again pages 11 to 20 from chapter 6, 15 from chap 7, 24 from ch 8 and 23 from ch 9, so you'll be able to understand better how hard is this all to him. It's not that he is 'giving up', he's not confident enough to win over destiny, to win over a person who was carefully chosen to match his tastes... he isn't confident enough to have the power to defeat his own fears of not being enough for Hara and is terrified of being the cause of Hara-san not reaching the 'most perfect' kind of happiness if he stays with him. Also, think that destiny is his job.... is what he does for a living, it's what has been saying how he should be and what is his role in society: helping others with their strings. He had to deal with hardships with love and destined things and the way he could go through that was convincing himself that destiny has a power above what they wish for.... so having to believe that Hara can be happier next to him than his destined partner would be like saying that his own past were just casualties that could or could not have happened and don't mean anything. Can you see how difficult this all must be?
I think the bigger problem here is that many readers are reading this thinking what they would do in his situation and we probably would not act like him since our stories and believes are quiet different.
