the director is bido or he sees himself as bido bc the ocean was where he met his love and they made his first film tg (in the earlier chaps you see him dress up as her after winning the award) and like he had to leave his hometown to go to seoul and they made a promise to meet up again and he didn’t keep it (bc he couldn’t) and when he came back a year later she was dead…and he decided to live on making movies and then he randomly tells MC that she shouldn’t lead the film (he basically got memories of himself in MC while she was laying down and scraped the scene)
