1. Why did Yumi threw his phone into the water? I'm so confused like I read thid 4 times and i still don't get it. Yumi wants to run away from Mayama but he's waiting for Mayama's email? What?? I just don't get it.
2. Yumi said he "loves" Kannosuke but in the end he is able to leave him so easily? I mean, if the reason was "abuse" then Yumi should've left him a long time ago but no. Only when Mayama appeared that he is able to leave him. So doesn't that mean he's actually been using Kannosuke to fill up his loneliness? Doesn't that mean he never truly did love Kannosuke and his "I love you'"s were all just empty words for him to run away from his feelings towards Mayama?
I don't know maybe because I read Kannosuke's story first that I truly felt bad and sorry for him. He truly loved Yumi and tried his hardest to make both yumi and his family happy. But in the end it's just a one sided feeling towards Kannosuke all along. Yumi never truly loved him. He was bearing with Kannosuke's abuse because he didn't want to be alone. Even here you can see Kannosuke never really wanted to hurt Yumi and when he saw the chance for Yumi to be free from him(the moment he saw Mayama we could see it in his face) he quickly let Yumi go bcs he didnt want to hurt him anymore. Ahh, I love my baby kan chan so much ┗( T﹏T )┛ I'm glad he is able to move on and become a better person with Shuuna I love his character development the most

I think it's more like Yumi really loved Kan-chan how he was in highschool, but even after being abused by him he just couldn't let go off the past, making himself believe he was okay as long as he was with Kan-chan. And tbh Yumi hadn't really gotten over Mayama since middle school (i mean, he even kept his broken phone for all those years even when he was with Kan-chan). By meeting Mayama again, i think Yumi realized he was hurting and that the Kan-chan right now wasn't the Kan-chan he loved, but that he did still have feeling for Mayama (and Yumi said himself that he hadn't changed at all) which is why i think Yumi was able to leave so easily at that time
1. As anon said, it fell in the water. Although Mayama called, Yumi's phone was broke. So both of them went on thinking they were cut off my the other person.
2. It wasn't an easy decision for Yumi to leave him. He is aware that he's the one who warped him, so he would feel guilty if he ran away. During high school they were inseparable, and Kan-chan really helped Yumi after leaving with unresolved feelings for Maya. I'm sure it explains more in detail in the spin off, but Kan-chan was aware of Yumi feelings for another man since high school. & over time it started to eat at him. & as Kan-chan said, their relationship is only hurting both of them. It's very toxic. Yumi does love Kan-chan, but he isn't in love with him. He loved the Kan-chan that was his friend, but kept running from the reality that he isn't the same & that he's (Yumi) in love with someone else.
The way I perceived it, He only love Kan-chan as a friend. He never love him romantically and just used him to feel up the space of Mayama. I also read first renai rubi so Im glad that kan-chan end up with Shuuna.
