It was rlly good until the latest chapters, wtf happened like the author woke up one day and decided to chose violence. every character except for the MC is suddenly dumb as rocks. I liked the ML until he joined the other club for no damn reason and caused a mess. he said he wouldn’t ever betray the MC like that but he did. I don’t see why he couldn’t have just joined another strip club instead of the one owned by the psychopath that’s terrorising his bf. Idc what tragic background he has, there’s no excuse. The brother is the worst character of all, he does nothing but bring trouble to the MC like an annoying little rat. YOUR ENTIRE LIFE IS SHIT BECAUSE THIS GUY PUT YOU INTO MASSIVE DEBT, YOUR BROTHER FINALLY PAID IT ALL OFF AND YOU WANNA GO BACK TO THE SAME GUY AND GET INTO MORE DEBT BECAUSE OF YOUR EX, ARE YOU FR. Stupid character I’ve never hated a manhwa character this much. I don’t understand why the author is focusing on the 2nd couple so much, I literally skip through their scenes, I can’t stand it. Worst part is I cant drop this because it’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion and I actually gaf about the MC.
Maybe the death threat was a bit much but I
get how she feels. Making a manhwa is seriously hard work and some authors literally cannot live off the money they make from it -even if their works are popular. There’s a reason why so many manhwa authors get health issues and have to go in hiatuses so often. She is right that reading manhwa is not a necessity but rather a luxury, so being poor is no excuse. I know that reading illegally is wrong so i’m fine with getting cursed at. Manhwa authors deserve a lot better. At the same time i’m also very grateful for fan translators it is very selfless work too.
But was it an actual death threat or was it just a way for her to express her frustration(in a bad way)?
I think people are taking these statements way too literal.
Piracy suffocates small authors and she’s lucky she isn’t small, but millions of people have read it for free and that is a huge loss. We definitely deserve criticism, and it’s silly that people are mad that they are receiving criticism.
Tweeting explicitly that they will engage in cyber bullying and that they’ll burn and taxidermy their illegal readers sound like an actual death threat to me lol people need to know this is not the first time she reacted like this: “@dmwk00: If I catch people who watch webtoons illegally, I will stuff them and burn them at the stake.
Not only my work but also other works are considered illegal.
After the taxidermy, I will engage in cyberbullying and argue with readers.
이 새끼들은 내 생계를 불링하는데
Why shouldn’t I do it?
Be careful, don’t get caught in my sight.”

It doesn’t sound like you want to have a conversation with people that have different interpretations than you. So, thank you for the receipts.
The author responded to the situation in the worst possible way—by adding more hate. I don’t have an issue with people interpreting things differently, but some of you refuse to acknowledge that what she said was wrong, acting like she’s completely justified in cyberbullying others.
Yes, we’re reading from a pirated site. Basic decorum is not posting screenshots or drawing attention to it publicly. That’s fair. But that doesn’t make it okay for an author to lash out with death threats or targeted harassment. That’s not something anyone should be defending.
Wanting accountability from both sides is valid. Of course, they’re not on the same level—one’s an author with a public platform, and the other’s an illegal reader. But both can still be called out for doing harm.
Yeah I understand your point of view.
I do believe that there is that room for interpretation with her words—to a degree. I won’t argue the fact that what she said was wrong, and won’t defend it, but I will try to see why she said it and what she actually meant by it.
I’m just empathizing with her, because shitty story or not— it’s her livelihood.
I’d say if you’re so sensitive about what folks threaten you with online then perhaps don’t post dumb screen shots. She has every right to be irate. Don’t come with a sob story about how you can’t afford or you’re underage lol. Or how this is mid etc. you got caught and show absolutely no remorse. Don’t care who the author is or how popular the story. Stop playing the victim. The rule has always been to stay under the radar. It’s why kids should stay out of adult spaces.
Maybe i’m just desensitised because I’m always on twitter but people say this stuff all the time but don’t actually mean it. I’m interpreting it quite charitably I know but i doubt she’ll actually do it.
