Hi, if any of youve been reading one of the winners (bbongs) story on lezhin - Spring in the heart, you might have already noticed it had been taken down. The reason is because this manhwa was disqualified for violating one of the rules - the author used a fictional concept of heart disease called Hanahaki (coughing petals from being lovesick) that already has an original creator holding a copyright, from what i have read, the original creators name is Matsuda Naoko and the work is called Hanahaki Otome.

Its still so much shame we wont be seeing more of this beautiful work and to be honest im frustrated to no end, since the author is in no wrong in that case (couldnt know the concept held a copyright, therefore didnt even have a chance to contact the creator).
Im still holding onto this small hope, that Bbong could publish this story somewhere else, because its one true beautiful masterpiece already from the beginning. Though this is probably pretty much impossible.
Therefore lets just cheer for this artist, because she is truly talented and i believe she will surprise us with more of her wonderful upcoming works.
I’ve read in some comments that Bbong has found Matsuda Naoko’s twitter and asked her if she can use the concept and continue ‘Spring in the Heart’. Bbong even offered to pay her. But I don’t know if Matsuda Naoko has answered yet. So there is a tiny bit of hope. I’m crossing my fingers Bbong to receive a permission because the story was very promising and the art was wonderful. Magher (the blond one) was way too cute! I'm curious how Korean copyright works. I mean, how do you copyright the concept of a fictional heart disease...?

In general I'd say the same. But maybe it's more realistic when you think about him already dreaming about smthg like this?
