I actually forgot I read this because they’ve changed the cover from last I remember. Thank you for reminding me why I dropped this. I truly have no understanding of why this is so beloved. This plot is DISGUSTING in perpetuating RAPE culture, and I truly am disgusted by the comments of love for this plot as I read them. This is why the genre is given such a bad light. Who writes this as a romance in all seriousness after writing such a truly disgusting acts of violence and cruelty. This is fiction, but why write this? What merit does this have? I know for profit for the author, but the fact that there is an audience that gladly accepts this genre’s obsession with sexual violence is so disappointing and disturbing to me.
