So many racists here. Be it subconsciously, race has NOTHING to do with this story. Stop making it the central topic. Treat the characters like all characters whether they were blue, yellow, orange or whatever. Those "bbc" comments are offensive. You may feel like you are being "supportive" it's not the place nor is it needed. It just bring unecessary attention to a topic that is not even a subject in the story itself. It's like when a caucasian has a poc as a friend and goes around saying "I have black friends"... does that make you any less racist? Why can't they just be a friend? Why do you have to justify yourself by bringing race into it? Just stop, it's not the 50's anymore it's 2020. We should be better.

I know this is gonna get a lot of dislikes, but who cares! Truth hurts...I guess?
Here it goes: for the people "confused" about the story so far... have y'all ACTUALLY been reading it or just scanning through it?

Well, that is rude. And honestly, what is your point in saying this? To kindly ask people to explain why they are so confused about the story while you are not? Or to let readers kindly know they should read the story better, because you understood it right away? For one, you didn't say it kindly, and either way, you are braging about yourself and looking down on people. And neither are good characteristics to be honest. So ask yourself: what the hell was the point of saying this?

It's also not always the best translations......no shame to the translator but it can be confusing to get the point across with out a proofreader or editor. So ppl might find the sentence structure strange and just pass over it. Kinda like how your brain still can read a sentence as long as the first and last letters of the word are correct
Tihs is bucseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey ltteer by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.
Just saying there are other point then they just didnt read it that's why they are confused.

I'm still boggled but, please enlighten me... WHAT part of YOUR comment ATTACKING my character, was an act of "KINDNESS"? Or are you also "confused" by the definition of "kindness" like you were when you called me "rude"? I really wanted to dismiss your b.s. from the start, but your ignorance is quite fascinating.
Kids, no matter how tough life gets, don't be a pornstar. You're better off begging on the streets. Ijs
The problem isn’t porn it’s people who stigmatize porn! Why do we discriminate the porn industry so much? Moral righteousness needs to stop! Let people act porn if they want to without the worry of being outcasted by society!
Clearly Ed personally hates that he did porn and feels traumatized enough to want to die.
It's not just society, people also have their individual feelings about sex and who they choose to do it with and who sees what they did.
Also, notably, don't go into porn because of debt where there is nothing the banks can repossess from u lmfaoooo, just default and build your credit back up.
You know the whole "i want to die" thing isn't because he's ashamed he did porn but because he misses glen... right?
But that’s his experience! Not everyone will feel that way! Not everyone going into potn will hate it! Mind you Ed was ok until he lost his job and got ostracized by his friends and workmates! If they had been positive about his porn acting and understanding would he have still turned out this way?
Do you have reading comprehension skills? Go back and read the chapter. Note what he says about sensation transference
I agree with what you're saying, just dont want to underestimate the personal response in this particular case.
Totally agree with you. That's what I was trying to saying without having to go into too much details. I wasn't saying porn is bad. But resorting to porn because of debt is just not a smart idea because 99.99% chance you will hate the reality you have to face once people around you find out especially if you don't like it yourself.
I wasn't stigmatizing porn. Nor was I preaching moral righteousness. I believe we live in a free world (for the most part) and can make our own decisions. Good or bad and we have to be able to face the bad consequences of our decision. Kudos to people who are proud to work in the porn industry (I don't know any). But the reality is porn is looked down on regardless on how you feel about it. If you enter the industry simply as a way to make quick cash because of debt, then it's because you're desperte and not something you'd normally do. And 99.99% of people whom make regrettable choices like Ed and enter the industry are never happy with the consequenses. Regardless who it's with, porn is still looked down on by society and most people don't want to be associated with in the open. It's just reality. Hoping that the stigmatization of porn will "stop" I think it's quite unrealistic. Rather, you should say that if someone enters the industry it should be because they enjoy sex and having people watch them watch sex. Not because porn needs to be accepted by society. Because, it won't. It's just the truth.
