i can fix her

this is probably one of the most upsetting examples of wasted story potential... although i feel that the story ended so abruptly due to severe budget cuts and/or time constraints, the author completely failed to end the series cohesively. if the story was meant to observe seungho's maturation, why did it end focusing on cheongu? what did the letter say in its entirety to make cheongu cry -- or did he cry simply because he missed seungho? how are we meant to believe that seungho has grown up if the last glimpse we saw of him showed how immature and unkind he could be? is that maturity?

i don't want to sound like i'm bashing the author, because i really do feel that this story was once great. its first season was compelling, gorgeous, and navigated the theme of "coming-of-age" with so much care. the beginning of the second season wasn't bad, either -- jarring, sure, and confusing at times, but it still felt like the first season. it only really fell off in the last several chapters, which happens if you're suddenly rushed to bring something to an end. i just wish it made sense, even if it still had to feel incomplete.

while kwon kind of hit the nail on the head for taewoo, the way he spoke in this chapter both about and to yoon made me lose all respect for him. the entire reason they're in this situation is because kwon established very clear boundaries between yoon and himself. he actively advised yoon against getting romantically attached to him, and because yoon caught himself developing feelings for kwon, he decided to distance himself. kwon continues to value his own feelings and comfort over yoon's, and the way he treats yoon as an object easily discarded is abhorrent.

what reallyyyyy hammered in the nail was "you must know by now that not everyone waits for you." kwon knows damn well how hurt yoon was after coming home (after being in a coma for YEARS) to find the most important person in his life with somebody else. he took advantage of that hurt and started their sex partnership because of it. him saying that wasn't a "reality check" -- it was a deliberate attempt to hurt him, to make yoon feel guilty for not immediately rushing to him. all of this after using terminology equating yoon to trash, mind you.

taewoo sucks. taewoo's weird-ass boyfriend(?) sucks. kwon sucks. Yoon get behind me

Hahaha absolutely love this comment. You really wrote out what i was feeling. that last line said to yoon was… damn. What an asshole thing to say… it’s not like he asked to be in this situation. I cant even imagine what it feels like to wake up and lose 5 years of your life
