People who don't accept Brian=Ian are not weird. (Or "wired" as they spelled lmao are we in serial experiments lain. Sorry, low hanging fruit). It's because Ian had already developed into his own person. He had also expressed that he did not want to be a replacement for brian because he is not the same person. The THOUGHT of sol helping him out and showing interest in him only because he was a brian replacement already hurt him greatly, so of course people who understood that he and brian diverged into different people wouldn't want him to get erased in favor of brian. I don't know what the author intends to do, and it'll be their choice ofc, but people can still HOPE that ian doesnt turn into brian if he inherits the memories. Doesn't it show how good ian is as a character, if ppl don't want his individuality to disappear and his fears to be confirmed? Doesn't it also showcase how great brian is in his own right, because he's also fleshed out to be his own person? Incarnations and their reincarnations can exist as their own people.
I call bullshit on that on commenter's point about stories about love interests being reborn NEVER separating the characters into different ppl-- because stories where reincarnations are vastly different from their first incarnation exist, and they are also interesting because of it.
Kagome and Kikyo from Inuyasha are a prime example. They are nothing alike, and the only people who think they are the same person are maybe demons that do not understand the nuances that makes humans different from each other. When Inuyasha falls in love with both, and despite them being ReIncArnAtiOns aNd BeInG tHe SaMe PeRson, the other characters call him out for TWO-TIMING lmao, and he eventually choses Kagome.
Also... Honkai Star Rail Dan Heng and Dan Feng are different people, my boy Dan Heng didn't repeatedly state that he wasn't Den Feng just to take "ur a reincarnation, ur the same person" sitting down.
If Ian turns into Brian, which I fear may be a huge possibility because of this long backstory (WHICH I ENJOY. I LOVE BRIAN HE'S GREAT.) then I mean, I'd be sad but that doesnt mean I hate the story. Dude, I literally got this far bc im so invested in it. Idk why that one commenter alluded to people not seeing Ian=Brian as haters that hateread until this point but go off, sis.

Tho sol ended up being too secretive with his intentions and ended up giving ian the wrong idea (or hopefully the wrong idea haha), I'm still really pleased with how gentle and patient he has been, he's so soft for ian and aaaaaa i just want them to be happyyyy
Yes I agree, I really hope that will be the case!! Brian is a cool character sure, but like you said, I hope the author uses all this build up and the inheritance thing to simply aid Ian in understanding and accepting sol further, ultimately choosing him over brixton, instead of changing him. :))

I love how it so obviously doesn't take itself seriously, and it elevates the comedy.
My favourite gags include:
- NATIONAL FEMININE MAN FEDERATION
- feminine men can hear erections
- the gap between mikame working, and him complaining during drinks
- dude just came from seeing a nipple lmfao mood
- when love gets brought up the characters often get drawn in a shoujo-reminiscent art style + sparkles like bro look at that entire scene where the president was giving love advice
- exaggerated SFX, overblown reactions
- that random moment where ryo/reo (?) shows up as a random bat-looking thing in haru's head like how did he get there lmao
- how mikame got misread as sanpei and it never got amended (i mean haru finds out that it's mikame but he doesnt use it)
- haru's reaction to getting sort of ntr'd (they werent together yet so ig not ntr) was to wait outside the hotel and obviously hide in the bushes.
- haru not being able to hear the confession in the rain
- haru brought a marriage magazine and managed to wear it down in a day.
- the wide range of facial expressions in the manga
bro deadass this made me fuckin laugh every chapter they're so horny and dumbbbb. I also appreciate how soft and heartfelt it can be at certain parts.
The only complaints I have is that it COULD have been hornier (kidding). Haru can be pretty annoying clingy but he kinda goes will with all the absurdity. It'd be really funny to imagine other character types in his situation!! like imagine a gruff no-nonsense seme hearing about the NFMF and just being like "what the fuck are you talking about"
But yeaaa ! It was pretty enjoyable for me ^^
