Ml is just thinking why he kept the mc even though he know the mc have a grudge. He disposed of everyone that is a threat to him so keeping the mc make him somewhat confused.
The flashback abt his father and step mom is just saying that he is so powerful now that they can't touch him.
The flashback where he was stab by a boy in blue is just making him think why he was so used to killing now that he didn't even hesitate.
And ofc the mc is gagged and bound becoz at the end of ch 74 he confessed that there was a poison in the drink
